About This Place

Welcome to Restaurante La Isla, nestled in the breathtaking natural beauty of Rascafría, Madrid, Spain. This charming eatery, located on the scenic M-604 at Kilometer 31, invites food lovers into a world where nature and culinary excellence intertwine seamlessly. Surrounded by the enchanting landscapes of the Parque Natural de Guadarrama and the tranquil flow of the river Lozoya, La Isla is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience.

As I stepped into this delightful hideaway, I was immediately struck by its inviting atmosphere. The warm service echoed the heart of Spanish hospitality, as patrons are treated like family. Yet, it’s the food that truly shines here, each dish a delightful homage to local tradition. Customers rave about the croquetas de jamón and the rich flavors of their signature cocido. Trying these dishes is a must; they embody the essence of authentic Spanish cuisine. The delightful king mushrooms stand out alongside succulent grilled meats from the region, like the impressive ternera de Guadarrama.

For those seeking something more adventurous, La Isla doesn't disappoint. Diners can explore innovative pairings such as cheese with zucchini and apple, showcasing a modern twist on classic ingredients. The desserts, though limited in selection, are homemade and crafted with care—the torrija has become a fan favorite, often cited as the perfect sweet ending to a memorable meal.

What truly enhances the dining experience at Restaurante La Isla is its stunning location. Imagine enjoying your meal on the spacious terrace, shaded by canopies in summer, or savoring the warmth of the indoor dining area next to a cozy chimenea during winter. The surrounding woods invite adventure, with nearby trails perfect for leisurely hikes, making it an ideal spot for a post-meal stroll.

In terms of value, Restaurante La Isla stands proud. With hearty portions—like the noteworthy steak dishes priced around €21—it's a delightful escape that doesn’t skimp on flavor or experience. Regulars and newcomers alike find themselves coming back for more, charmed by the friendly atmosphere and the stunning scenic beauty.

In summary, whether you're a local or a traveler like me, Restaurante La Isla offers an exquisite blend of traditional flavors and a welcoming environment. Make sure to pencil this gem into your itinerary when exploring the natural wonders of Madrid. You won’t just leave with a full stomach but with beautiful memories!

Lovely restaurant, in a beautiful location. Great service and fantastic food. The croquetas de jamón, king mushrooms & cocido were my favourites

In the middle of the woods and right next to a river. Beautiful surroundings

Great location and good (but not outstanding) food. Decent value for money. Will certainly repeat.

My first time as a foreigner in this area . "Restaurante La Isla" is one of my good experience ..very famous and old, yet one of the best when it comes to steak dish for me...the best steak of the house cost €21 but its all good and comes in a huge piece (worth it the price).......awesome meal...
